Loss Prevention Bulletin - 3 April 2018

Date of incident: 31/03/2018 

Four armed pirates in two skiffs came within 100m of a tanker in the Gulf of Aden before opening fire on the vessel at 0820hrs local time. The embarked armed security team returned fire, prompting the pirates to abort the attack and move away. Ladders were sighted on the skiff. The tanker sustained minor damage from the attack although crew were reported as safe.
